Evans said in a statement through the ‘Professional Cricketers’ Association’ on Monday that he was surprised by the results of the investigation in August. Evans pleaded not guilty, saying, “I believe in fair play and have never used a banned substance.” I do not know how the banned substance has been confirmed in the test. Me and my team are investigating how this could have happened and I am doing everything possible to find out.
The Perth Scorchers said they were disappointed to learn about it. In these circumstances, the franchise and Evans and his management have decided to terminate his contract for the next Australian season.
